During the summer, the last thing you want to do is eat something that’ll leave you feeling extra full and bloated. It’s the season for belly shirts and skin hugging clothes that’ll show every inch of your waistline. Here are some foods you can enjoy without having to worry about your midriff.
Greek yogurt is high in protein and is great for aiding digestion. Aim for one that has less than 20 grams of sugar. Dannon’s Oikos Greek Yogurt is a great option with 9.1 grams of sugar.
Fruits loaded with water are a great way to lessen bloating without taking in fiber. The more water you have in your system, the more you’ll pee, hence the less amount of bloating you’ll have. Watermelons and cucumbers are both filled with water, which will do the trick and taste great at the same time.
Too much salt can cause water retention. If you’ve had a few too many salty snacks eat a banana. They’re high in potassium, which will offset the sodium and reduce bloating.
The last thing you want to do when trying to avoid a bloated midsection is drink anything carbonated. It’ll make you gassy, which will only bloat you even more. Instead, opt for iced coffee or tea since they have a lot of water in them.
If you’re hungry and looking for something to fill you up without feeling too “heavy,” opt for some of these quick snacks that’ll do the trick. Nuts, string cheese and zucchini are great options that’ll keep you full without adding extra inches to your waistline.
